Little Miss Sunshine was a very disappointing movie.

Dysfunctional family + coke-snorting grandpa + VW bus + acknowledgment that child beauty pageants are stupid (while all interesting and mildly amusing things) are not enough to carry a movie for 90 minutes.

Borat (which I saw last week) wasn't all that great either, though at least there were a few good, funny scenes.

These are the only two recent releases I've watched or even had any interest in (except March of the Penguins, which is kinda in a different category)...this pretty much confirms to me that I'm not interested in movies, especially new ones.  I'd rather watch old TV shows.

Too bad you didn't like it! I thought Little Miss Sunshine was the best movie I saw all year. "Who is that? Nietzsche? So you stopped talking because of Friedrich Nietzsche? Far out." ;-)

I think whether you really liked it depends on when you saw it. By the time it'd been out a couple weeks it was completely overhyped. I saw it early on and thought it was cute and sweet, but not the greatest movie ever. I feel the same way about Napoleon Dynamite. I saw it late in the game and thought it was just ok. Is Pan Labyrinth out on DVD yet? That was one of my favorite movies this year.
