Yesterday when I started getting sniffly (as in a cold or allergies) for the third time in six weeks, I decided to buy (and use) a neti pot (they sell 'em at CVS drugstores.) Today my cold/allergy symptoms are gone.  Coincidence?  I have no idea, but I'm not complainin'.  I will happily accept any placebo effect that shortens the amount of time I feel crappy.

I'm being all [melo]dramatic and angsty in my head.  It is not a good thing to do. In fact, I think doing anything else is preferable.  Well, almost anything.

My current doctor, a couple of past doctors, and the UCSD medical school ear-nose-throat department all recommend nasal irrigation. It's not a coincidence. It works.

I think I was doubtful because I didn't see results *immediately.* I'm hoping it continues to work - I'd love to be a convert.

Hurray for the neti pots! ;-) I am a total convert, so I hope it ends up really helping you. Getting mine actually changed my life, I think.

So far it's looking pretty good :) I wish I'd gotten one years ago when I first read about them. Somehow other ways of nasal irrigation don't seem to work as well.
