It's so much fun to project:

"Meoooooooow! Meowwwwwww!"

"George, what do you want? A puppy?  I'm sorry, we can't get a puppy right now."

(I do some variation of this about 3-4 times a day. It amuses my mom, too, who misses our dog that died two years ago and has been vacillating about getting a new dog.)

I do not need a new laptop computer.
I do not need a new laptop computer.
I do not need a new laptop computer.

There will be other good ones on sale other weeks.  There are far better ways to use the money. Impulse buys are bad.  And if I buy a computer w/ Vista already installed & end up hating Vista, it's not like it's totally impossible to wipe the HD and put WINXP on it.  Right?  Right?  Right?

Oh, and while we're at it, can anyone figure out the difference between the ViewSonic Q19WB-2 & the ViewSonic Q19wb, other than $5?  Those *are* a pretty great price after rebate and wouldn't wipe out my savings.

For those not in the know...Target has followed Walmart's fine* example in selling many generic prescription meds for just $4 for a month's supply.  [Direct link to .pdf of the drugs included in the program]

I haven't seen much media buzz about this, and I'm not sure it's nationwide yet, so check with your local Target.

Damn, I'm so excited not to have to go into Walmart ever again.  Target is bad enough.  (My dislike of Walmart isn't entirely based on politics--I also just plain can't stand being there because of the general chaotic atmosphere...which is entirely different from the enjoyably chaotic atmosphere of, say, the Waverly farmer's market)

It continues to amuse me, though (well, in that not-so-funny way) that they include estrogen replacement drugs (which are known now to be pretty harmful in many cases) in the $4 program
but not birth control pills (estrogen + progestins).  Progestins must be ungodly expensive and hard to make!  Except that they're not!  It's just a conspiracy.

*this is perhaps the only thing about Walmart that I find "fine"
