My mother is on the phone with my aunt bitching about intermarriage. 

For fuck's sake, can't she see that religion isn't the important quality in a spouse?  VALUES is what's important.

The people in the churches I attended before I moved to NYC couldn't see it, either. My previous pastor proclaimed he wouldn't allow such weddings to occur in our church building, because he, "condone your sin." He was completely serious. And my former counselor did not believe non-Christians could be moral. So lots of folks have it wrong, not just your mom. It's sad.

Of course, it is interesting most of the people I heard whooping about it were either married or had no interest in (re)marrying.
