Since I typed it up to email to my mom in California, I might as well post this recipe. You can use tofu instead of chicken, too. Tofu marinated in ginger, garlic, soy sauce and rice vinegar = yum.

Sesame Chicken Salad

2 TBS sesame seeds
1/4 cup salad oil
3 TBS lemon juice
1.5 TBS soy sauce
1.5 TBS white wine vinegar (we usually use rice vinegar instead)
3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
2 tsp finely minced fresh ginger
1/2 pound snow peas
1/2 pound bean sprouts
3 to 3.5 c. shredded cooked chicken

[We usually at least double the amounts of garlic, ginger, soy sauce and vinegar, but I like things with a lot of flavor.]
Toast sesame seeds in a small frying pan over medium heat, shaking pan often, until seeds are golden (about 5 minutes). In a large bowl, mix seeds, oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and ginger until blended.

Fill a large pan halfway with water; bring to a boil. Add pea pods and bean sprouts; cook just until water boils. Drain, rinse with cold water, and drain again. Combine vegetables, chicken, and oil mixture and stir. It's better after it's had a chance to sit for awhile.

Dear Miriam
I hope your feeling better.
I noticed your icon changed away from the meat grinder.

sorry if I put that food item in the wrong post for you--having good luck with food always cheers me up--I was hoping it might've helped you as well.

well, I don't know if you're still interested, but my biscuit did turn out amazingly well.

the magic is in the flour--the garbanzo bean flour has fat or something, which traps the co2 from the baking soda.

I just put in flour, cold water, and b.s. and cooked it on 480 for 20 minutes, or until the fire alarm went off.

then I felt woozy and started to lose consciousness, after I layed down in bed. but the big fire alarm outside, on the outside of my neighbor's house started ringing very loudly.

Kind of embarassing.

I met my neighbor for the first time, that morning, as I staggered outside.
He seemed like a nice a guy.

Anyway, after the fumes had cleared that morning, about an hour later , I removed my foil package from the oven. It was *great*.
Like cornbread or something.
I highly recommend it.

love,
gil

I hope things improve for you. Listen--I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but I'm not interested in being friends.
Also, it's really not appropriate to use "love" in notes to random people from the internet.

That's fine; friendship is a two way thing, and if it doesn't work for you, it doesn't work for both of us.

I like some of what you write very much, and would love just to silently read what you write sometimes, but of course the way LJ works, you would be exposed to what I write, as well, on your friends page.

I think you misunderstand me; I am not looking for a romantic relationship with you. But if misunderstandings are likely to occur often, then you are right, it may be most harmonious and orderly if we don't interact.

Thank you for your honest reply,
good luck,
Gil.
